What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as scripts and pixels, do a similar job. Some are needed for a site to work. Others help the owner understand how the site is used or which marketing works.

Cookies needed for the site to work

• Security: our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies such as __cf_bm to tell real visitors from automated traffic.
• Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam, which may set cookies on google.com.
• Language: our translation plugin remembers which language version of the site you are viewing.

Analytics

• Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, to count visits and see which pages are used. They are kept for up to two years.
• Koko Analytics counts visits on our own server without cookies and without storing personal data.
• Plausible Analytics, which we host ourselves, counts visits and sources without cookies and without storing personal data.

Marketing and lead attribution

• Google Ads sets _gcl_au to tell us whether a visit came from one of our adverts.
• UTM tracking cookies starting handl_ record the page and campaign that brought you to the site, so the enquiry forms can tell us which content is working.
• Leadfeeder (_lfa) and Apollo (loaded through Google Tag Manager) identify the companies that visit our site from their network details, so our sales team knows which organisations are interested.

How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you block third party cookies only. You can stop Google Analytics on every site with Google's browser add-on. If you block all cookies, some parts of the site, such as the forms, may not work.
