As it seems for every month now, a lot has happened! Our new team members are developing great content for a wide variety of clients, and we couldn’t be happier with how things are progressing.

We’re going to be making some big technical steps forward in the next quarter or so, and be sure to follow our blog to learn about that. In the past month, we’ve been busy preparing for our first tradeshow exhibition (see below). It would be very easy to be caught out by how quickly this has approached, but hopefully, we’re on top of things.

As always, I hope you enjoy this newsletter - and if you ever have any suggestions for it, please do let me know.

Work 2.0 Update

As we announced last month, we’re exhibiting at the upcoming Work 2.0 conference - and it’s fast approaching!

In the past week, we’ve been super busy making sure everything is prepared for the show. This has included:

  • Printing new business cards (I really like the new design!)
  • Designing our stand graphics
  • Preparing flyers
  • Building new company animation and interactive display
  • Developing gamification module for the show
  • Preparing presentation (be sure to come watch!)

And a whole bunch more!

We will be giving away two great devices during the show. We will have a business card raffle to win a Kindle, and we will have a brilliant gamification example where the winner will win an Amazon Fire!

I’m really starting to get excited about the show, and I hope that you can make it along as well. If you’ve not signed up yet, you can do so on the link below. See you there!

iPad Pro 10.5

This month’s recommended product gets back to more typical ground after last month’s recommendation. I think I’ve finally found the perfect device for my business and personal needs.

Many of you would have seen a product demonstration from me. Over the years I had an iPad Air (9.7”), then the large 12.9” iPad Pro (too big!) - but now I’ve found my goldilocks device with the recent 10.5” iPad Pro.  Let me tell you why.

Firstly, I’m always online. With an LTE sim card inside, I can jump online in quite literally seconds. No need for wifi hotspots/login etc. I’ve got the power of a laptop with constant connectivity with a weight under 1kg. I also use the Apple Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil. With these devices, I can reply to emails at full speed (not tapping on a smartphone) and draw quick mockups for our team.

If you combine these hardware components with the ever-maturing app ecosystem (many of which I’ve recommended previously), then you’ve got a compelling device. I’ve even figured out a great way to do coding on the iPad through a combination of Mosh/SSH and VPS - but I won't nerd out too much! With the upcoming iOS 11, it will kick it up a notch with multitasking being more integral to the experience.

Yes, I’m an Apple fanboy, but with this device, I can do basically everything I need to for our remote company. If you’ve considered replacing your laptop with an iPad or similar - then I think we now have a combination of hard and soft wares that make it possible.

What do you think?
