Mandatory Training Checker for the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Which training does the law actually require of your organisation? Pick your country, emirate or free zone and sector, and get a sourced list in seconds: what is required by a rule, what regulators expect, and where each one comes from.
Find the Training That Applies to You
Answer three questions. Your list updates as you go, and every item links to its official source.
Two Kinds of Mandatory Training
Not every course called mandatory is written into a law. The checker keeps the two apart, so you know where you have no choice and where you have to show good judgement.
Required by a law or regulator
The rule itself says staff must be trained, sometimes with a frequency. Missing it is a breach you can be fined or sanctioned for.
Expected, or needed to show reasonable steps
The rule makes you responsible for an outcome, such as safe work or protected data, and training is how regulators expect you to show you took it seriously.
Proof matters for both
Inspectors and auditors ask for records: who was trained, on what, when and with what result. An LMS that keeps those records saves weeks at audit time.
Built From Official Sources Only
Every item in the checker links to the law, regulation, regulator rulebook or official government page it comes from: federal and emirate authorities in the UAE, the DFSA in the DIFC, the FSRA in ADGM and the ministries, regulators and authorities of Saudi Arabia.
Where a rule makes you responsible for something but does not spell out training, we mark it as expected rather than required. Where we could not confirm a detail, such as a refresher frequency, we leave it out instead of guessing.
What is mandatory training?
Mandatory training is training an organisation must give its staff because a law, regulation or regulator requires it, such as anti-money laundering, health and safety or data protection training. In the UAE and Saudi Arabia the rules depend on where you are licensed, including free zones such as the DIFC and ADGM, and on your sector.

Mandatory Training Questions
Is this checker legal advice?
No. It is general guidance built from official sources, to help you plan. Rules change and every organisation is different, so open the source for each item and check with your legal or compliance team before you rely on it.
Which places does it cover?
The UAE, with mainland Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the other emirates, the DIFC and ADGM, and Saudi Arabia. Other GCC countries will follow.
Do DIFC and ADGM companies follow federal UAE law?
Partly. The DIFC and ADGM have their own data protection laws and their own financial regulators, the DFSA and the FSRA, while federal laws such as the anti-money laundering law apply across the UAE. The checker shows the rule that applies to the place you choose.
What is the difference between required and expected?
Required means the rule itself says staff must be trained. Expected means the rule makes you responsible for an outcome and training is the normal way to show you met it, even though the word training may not appear.
How often should mandatory training be refreshed?
Where a rule sets a frequency, the checker shows it. Where it does not, most organisations refresh core compliance training every year and whenever a law, policy or role changes.
Has the UAE anti-money laundering law changed?
Yes. Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025 replaced Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2018, and Cabinet Resolution No. 134 of 2025 replaced Cabinet Decision No. 10 of 2019 from 14 December 2025. If your AML training still quotes the old law, it needs updating.
Are my answers stored?
No. The checker runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send us your list with the Get help button.
Can I save or share my results?
Yes. Use Print or save as PDF under your results, or send the list to us with the Get help button and we will reply with a plan.
Can you build the training for us?
Yes. We build custom e-learning in Arabic, English and any language, supply ready-made courses, and track completion in Siraj, our AI-powered LMS.
How up to date is the checker?
Every source was checked in November 2026. We review the list regularly, and the source link on each item always points to the current official page.
