Why we’re exhibiting at Work 2.0
We’ve been thinking about exhibiting at a trade show for a while now. I had thought about it at defence type shows (as I know the industry), or a HR Show (but they are always expensive!) – but Work 2.0 has been the one that made the most sense.
I attended the show in 2016 when it was titled the Learning and Development Show. That year I was just walking the floors and getting a feel for what was out there. I did also make a couple of friends in the industry, as well as secure some business.
It made sense that the next logical progression was to exhibit.
We signed up for a stand in the innovation space. This is the smallest, and most cost-effective option for us. As we signed up fairly early on, we managed to secure probably the best position here. Along with the stand, I’ll also be giving a presentation on blended learning.
As a young company with a small budget for this type of thing, it made sense to test the waters first. We’re lucky in that we can do all our stand designs and media (apart from printing) internally, so we can keep the costs down. If this year goes well, then we might sign up for a bigger stand in 2018.
Another key reason why we signed up was how responsive the organisers have been. In particular Ben Carter who has been patient in answering all my questions, and steering us in the right direction to get the most out of the show. If this support wasn’t there, and we were going in more blind, I doubt we would have signed up.
We’ve also got a few innovative ideas planned for both our stand, and our presentation. To give you some hints, it will involve audience participation as well as aspects of gamification. As with all good examples of gamification, there are stakes. We’ll be giving away a couple of prizes during the show.
So I’ll be sure to write again after the event to let you know how it all went. I really hope that you can make it along, and you can visit us on Stand 20. Click the image below to sign up to attend. See you there!
